Press release on Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov’s consultations with Russia, China, the US and Pakistan on Afghan national reconciliation
On October 25, Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov met with his Pakistani counterpart Muhimmed Aejaz, China’s Special Envoy on the Afghan Affiars Deng Xijun and the US State Department’s Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad who arrived in Moscow to take part in consultations in the Russia-China-US plus Pakistan format on promoting settlement in Afghanistan.
Mr Morgulov noted the need to resume talks between the United States and the Taliban and continue joint efforts to facilitate the inter-Afghan dialogue.
The participants emphasised the importance of reaching stable peace in Afghanistan through political and diplomatic means.
