Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s opening remarks at talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Vietnam Pham Binh Minh, Moscow, November 24, 2016
Mr Minister, friends,
We are glad to be meeting with you several days after our presidents talked on the sidelines of the APEC leaders’ meeting in Lima, Peru. During the Vietnamese Prime Minister’s visit to Russia in May of this year, he held bilateral talks and also attended the ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit in Sochi.
Regular contacts between our leaders are followed by the adoption of fundamental agreements on the further development of our strategic partnership. There are several issues we plan to discuss today. We will look at the implementation of the agreements reached and, of course, exchange opinions on current international and regional issues.
Welcome to Moscow.
