On November 2, Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Envoy for the Middle East and North Africa Mikhail Bogdanov attended an international scientific and practical conference in Kazan Foreign Ties of Russian Regions: The Experience of the Republic of Tatarstan and read out Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s message to the conference participants:
“I send my warm greetings to the organisers and participants in the international scientific and practical conference Foreign Ties of the Russian Regions: The Experience of the Republic of Tatarstan held in Kazan.
It is one of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s priorities to promote the development of international and foreign economic exchanges of the Russian regions as part of the country’s unified foreign policy line.
We value the current level of cooperation with the Administration of Tatarstan on improving its foreign ties. We welcome the expanding geography of its foreign partners. The key to success is to create favourable conditions for foreign investment and promising joint projects. Cultural and humanitarian cooperation is also developing. The major sports events organised in the republic with substantial contribution from the republic’s representative offices abroad have been widely acclaimed.
I am convinced that the forum will help to share the accumulated experience, to establish new mutually advantageous contacts for the purpose of employing more efficiently the vast potential of the Russian regions. We in turn will continue to provide overall assistance in this respect.
I hope you will have interesting discussions, and I wish you new achievements and send my best regards.”
