On May, 27 Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Vershinin held a meeting with Permanent Representative of Singapore to the UN in New York, Chairman of the UN Open-Ended Working Group on Security of and in the Use of ICTs 2021-2025 Burhan Gafoor.

During the conversation the current negotiation process on international information security in the UN and its prospects were discussed. The importance of launching a permanent mechanism on this topic to replace the OEWG, which is completing its activities this year, was emphasized. There was an exchange of views on other aspects of the work of the United Nations. A commitment to constructive interaction between Russia and Singapore in the UN on issues of mutual interest was outlined.
