Statement by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the death of the Russian journalist in Ukraine
The Russian journalist, Anatoly Klyan, an operator of the "Pervyi kanal", died as a result of shooting on the 30 June, in Donetsk.
We are in mourning and extend our condolences to his friends and family. The death of the Russian journalist convincingly showed once again that the Ukrainian forces do not want the de-escalation of the armed conflict in the East of the country, and are blocking the fragile cease-fire.
We request that the Ukrainian authorities conduct an objective investigation into this tragedy, and punish those who are guilty.
