Meeting of G8 Political Directors
PRESS RELEASE
On May 21, Toronto, Canada, hosted a meeting of G8 political directors in which Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Ryabkov took part.
Questions of the preparation of the G8 Muskoka Summit (June 25-26) were discussed. The parties held a thorough exchange of views on the main issues of the summit's agenda, including nonproliferation, counterterrorism and vulnerable regions and states in terms of security.
On the Canadian side's proposal the next meeting of political directors in this format is planned to be held directly on the eve of the summit.
