Comment by Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on Ukrainian Armed Forces’ strikes on residential areas of Belgorod and Kursk

The goal of the Kiev regime is to strike the residential areas of cities with unguided weapons. This is far from the first time something similar has happened.

We understand that these actions of the regime in Kiev were not only agreed upon with its western superintendents but were also most likely prompted by them. They do this to force us into striking back in a similar fashion so they can carry on hyping their anti-Russian hysteria.

We have abstained from making such steps, but we will be monitoring these developments very carefully. Those who have been acting in this fashion should be aware that they will have to pay if these provocations continue.
