Press release on Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s meeting with Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India Subrahmanyam Jaishankar in Indonesia
On September 6, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held talks with his Indian counterpart, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, on the sidelines of the 18th East Asia Summit in Jakarta.
The ministers exchanged views on the most pressing issues of bilateral relations and international issues. They discussed practical steps for the further development of trade, economic and energy cooperation, and cooperation in transport and in financial matters.
A mutual desire to increase coordination in multilateral formats, primarily at the UN, as well as within the SCO, BRICS and the G20, was emphasised.
