Press release on Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s telephone conversation with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó
On July 2, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov spoke on the telephone with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Péter Szijjártó, at the initiative of the Hungarian side.
The parties commended the current high level of political dialogue between Russia and Hungary, emphasising that bilateral interaction continued to develop steadily, despite the extremely difficult international situation, in the spirit of healthy pragmatism and mutual benefit.
The sides exchanged views on a range of current issues on the international agenda. In discussing the Ukraine crisis, the two ministers noted the need for Kiev to unconditionally ensure the rights of all ethnic minorities living in the country.
