Press release on Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s meeting with prominent Abkhazian politician Badra Gunba, Moscow, February 6, 2025
On February 6, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with prominent politician of the Republic of Abkhazia Badra Gunba in Moscow. The interlocutors stressed the unshakable nature of Russian-Abkhaz friendship, and praised the results of cooperation achieved in various areas.
The Russian side expressed gratitude to the Abkhaz people for their support of the special military operation and humanitarian aid dispatched to the affected regions of the Russian Federation.
Sergey Lavrov expressed his hope that the results of the expression of the will of the voters in the upcoming election of the President of the Republic will contribute to strengthening Abkhazia’s security and stability, to growing well-being of its people, relying on close allied relations with Russia.
