On November 8, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Foreign Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Gedion Timotheos on the sidelines of the first ministerial conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum in Sochi.

The ministers discussed the key areas of focus to promote Russian-Ethiopian mutually beneficial cooperation, including the expansion of trade, and economic, scientific and technical, as well as humanitarian ties. Moscow and Addis Ababa reiterated their commitment to deepening the political dialogue and close coordination of their approaches on key international issues at BRICS and the UN.
