On the 23 May the National Electoral Commission of Guinea-Bissau officially announced the final results of the second round of presidential elections, according to which the candidate from the African Party for the Independence of Guinea and Cape Verde (PAIGC), Josй Mбrio Vaz, who collected 61.9% of the votes, convincingly won.

We hope that the successful presidential election campaign will accelerate the advancement of Guinea-Bissau on the path of restoration of constitutional order, recreation of state authority and renewal of consistent social and economic development.
