More than 200 people, including representatives of the Russian and CIS countries Embassies, Russian compatriots, took part in the celebration. Many believers attended the services with their families to share the joy of the cheerful holiday.
According to the Orthodox tradition, the Easter services were conducted by Father Dmitry (Kulakov) the priest of the Russian Orthodox Church. A Cross Procession took place around the Embassy building in vibrant atmosphere, accompanied by religious hymns singing. After that, the White Hall of the Embassy solemnly decorated on the occasion of the holiday saw the Divine Liturgy, at the end of which Father Dmitry read out the traditional Easter Message of Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill.
The participants of the services demonstrated genuine spiritual unity with solemn cries “Christ has Risen!” and prayers in Russian, English, French, Greek Hindi and Latin. The services were followed by the joint festive meal.
Since 2003, Easter celebration has become a good tradition at the Russian Embassy in India.
