Press release on Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s meeting with Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Mali Abdoulaye Diop
On September 26, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Mali Abdoulaye Diop in New York on the sidelines of the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly.
The foreign ministers discussed topical issues pertaining to further strengthening friendly Russia-Mali relations and engaged in a constructive exchange of views on the situation in the Sahara-Sahel region. The Russian side reaffirmed its commitment to continue supporting the stabilisation in Mali, including at the UN.
The ministers signed the Russia-Mali Joint Statement on the No First Placement of Weapons in Outer Space.
