The inauguration of the Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest Exhibition in New Delhi
On April 4, at the All India Fine Arts & Crafts Society Gallery in New Delhi, DCM & Minister Counsellor of the Russian Embassy in India Roman Babushkin addressed the inauguration of the Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest Exhibition. The event was also attended by Executive Director of the Contest Alexander Shtol, Chairman of the Prasar Bharati Public Service Broadcaster Navneet Kumar Sehgal and Head of the Representative Office of the Sputnik International News Agency — Sputnik India Olga Dycheva.
The diplomat congratulated the Indian photographers and noted that such competitions contribute to expanding people-to-people contacts and learning more about each other. He underscored that the Contest had become an important platform for those who want to tell the truth, as well as a reminder of the need to ensure the safety of journalists. Roman Babushkin recalled the ongoing attacks of the Kiev regime on Russian reporters and discrimination against Russian media in Western liberal communities, and called for increased Russian-Indian cooperation in the media sphere within an emphasis on content exchange agreements, press tours, and expansion of the presence of news agencies of the two countries on each other’s territory. The exhibition open till April 10 presents 65 photographs by the winners of the competition. The event was attended by representatives of socio-political, cultural, and academic circles, the diplomatic corps, and the media.
