Press release on Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Bulgaria Boyko Borisov
On March 2, 2018, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria Boyko Borisov, at the latter’s request.
In connection with the forthcoming Day of Liberation of Bulgaria from Ottoman Oppression observed on March 3, Mr Borisov asked to convey feelings of gratitude to the Russian people for liberating Bulgarians from the five-centuries-long foreign rule 140 years ago. In turn, Mr Lavrov congratulated the Bulgarian Prime Minister on Bulgaria’s national holiday.
The ministers also exchanged views on current issues on the bilateral agenda.
