Russian MFA statement on reports of air strikes by the Israeli Air Force at targets on Syrian territory

The reports of air raid of Israeli air forces at targets in Syria near Damascus were received in Moscow with deep concern. If this information is confirmed, these are unprovoked attacks at targets on the territory of a sovereign nation, which grossly violates the UN Charter and is unacceptable whatever its motives.

We are taking immediate steps to clarify this situation in all its details.

Again we urgently call for an end to any violence in Syria, the prevention of any external interference and for the start of a general Syrian dialogue on the basis of the Geneva agreements of June 30, 2012.
