On September 19, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with President of the Republic of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on the sidelines of the 72^nd session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Participants in the meeting exchanged opinions on a wide range of issues of traditionally friendly Russian-Ugandan relations, including the further development of a trust-based political dialogue, and strengthening cooperation in the UN and in other international organizations.

The parties noted the potential for boosting mutually beneficial cooperation in trade, economic and other areas with a focus on the implementation of joint mutually advantageous projects in energy, construction, transport and the training of Uganda specialists.
