Press release on Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s meeting with Chilean Foreign Minister Teodoro Ribera Neumann
On September 26, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had a meeting with Foreign Minister of the Republic of Chile Teodoro Ribera Neumann on the sidelines of the 74th Session of the UN General Assembly.
The ministers discussed the main issues on the Russian-Chilean agenda, including the development of the political dialogue, trade and economic links, and prospects for the strengthening of the bilateral contractual framework. They also exchanged opinions on topical matters concerning global and regional affairs, including in the context of Chile’s current APEC presidency. In particular, the ministers focused on the situation around Venezuela and the need for starting a political process to overcome the crisis.
