On September 21, State Secretary and Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Russian Federation Imangali Tasmagambetov.

During the meeting,  the officials exchanged the instruments of ratification   for the  Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Details of the Legal Regulation of the Activities of Railway Businesses, Institutions and Organisations  dated October 18, 1996, and signed in Astana on October 4, 2016. This document is due to raise the efficiency of Russian Railways in the interests of Russian and Kazakhstani passengers and consigners.

The parties also focused on current matters of Russian-Kazakhstani cooperation and reviewed preparations for bilateral high- and top-level meetings and events in the context of the 25^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan celebrated in October of this year.

The meeting was held in a warm and constructive atmosphere traditional for relations between the two countries.
