Press release on signing the Memorandum of Understanding between the Russian Government and UNICEF

On September 17, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Executive Director of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Henrietta Fore signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Russian Government and UNICEF.

UNICEF is the leading UN organisation for the protection and development of children. UNICEF’s main efforts include healthcare for mothers and children, early childhood development, child nutrition, education, and providing aid and support for mothers and children in emergencies, including natural disasters, military conflicts and epidemic outbreaks.

The Memorandum of Understanding between the Russian Government and UNICEF is aimed to bring cooperation between Russia and UNICEF to a strategic level in Russia’s priority areas in the context of providing aid to its partner states.
