On December 6 in Rome, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had a meeting with Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs Israel Katz on the sidelines of the international conference, The Mediterranean: Roman Dialogue.

Sergey Lavrov and Israel Katz discussed a number of topical matters concerning bilateral affairs in the context of the preparations for Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Israel in January 2020. They reaffirmed their striving to continue active political dialogue.

They also exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East focusing on the current situation in Syria and the state of affairs in the Palestinian-Israeli peace settlement.
