Press release on Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s telephone conversation with German Minister for Foreign Affairs Heiko Maas

On December 18, Sergey Lavrov had a telephone conversation with Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany Heiko Maas.

In light of Berlin’s plans to convene an international conference on Libya, the ministers discussed developments in this country with an emphasis on promoting the settlement process via an inclusive national dialogue involving all parties to the conflict. They also touched on the situation in Ukraine, focusing on the consistent implementation of the Minsk Agreements and the continuation of work in the Normandy format, taking into account the results of the Paris summit held on December 9.

The ministers also discussed several current issues on the bilateral agenda.
