Press release on Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov’s meeting in Moscow with Egyptian Ambassador to Russia Mohamed El-Badri

On September 18 Special Representative of the President for the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov received in Moscow Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt El–Badri.

The officials held a detailed exchange of views on key regional issues, with emphasis on developments in the Syrian Arab Republic considering the results of the sixth international meeting on Syria in Astana, developments in Libya and the status of the Middle East settlement. The Russian side highly praised Egypt’s active contribution to restoring Palestinian national unity and normalising the situation in Gaza based on concrete outcomes of contacts between Fatah and Hamas.

The officials also discussed a number of current bilateral issues.
