On October 20, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov spoke by telephone with Federal Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs of the Austrian Republic Sebastian Kurz at the initiative of the Russian side.

Mr Lavrov congratulated his counterpart on the victory won by the Austrian People’s Party headed by Mr Kurz in the early parliamentary elections held on October 15. The ministers discussed certain aspects of the Russian-Austrian bilateral agenda and stated steady progress of cooperation in various spheres.
