Press release on Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov’s consultations at the Spanish Foreign Ministry

187-03-02-2015

On February 2, Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov held consultations on the UN Security Council at the Spanish Foreign Ministry.

The parties exchanged opinions on a wide range of current issues on the UNSC agenda in a candid and concerned manner, considering that Spain has been elected a non-permanent member of the Security Council for 2015-2016.

They pointed to the similarity of their views on a number of regional crises and the need to build up collective efforts to fight international terrorism under the auspices of the UN.

Mr Gatilov highlighted Russia's priorities at the UN Security Council and General Assembly, in particular in light of the upcoming 70th anniversary of the end of World War II.
