Statement by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding new shooting by the Ukrainian authorities at Russian territory

On the 10 July, as a result of action by the Ukrainian forces, artillery shot at the Gukovo, Russian checkpoint, on the Russian-Ukrainian border, again.

At the time, there were about 230 refugees from the territory of Ukraine in the checkpoint area. Luckily, there were no casualties. The refugees were evacuated to a safe place.

These actions by Ukraine are in gross violation of the fundamental principles of international law.

Russia sends a decisive protest to Ukraine and requests it to stop shooting at Russian territory immediately.

If such cases are repeated, all the responsibility for their consequences will be imposed on the Kiev authorities.
