Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Kislyak Meets with Polish Ambassador to Moscow Stefan Meller

PRESS RELEASE

On August 11 Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Kislyak received Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Russia Stefan Meller.

On the Russian MFA leadership's behalf deep regret was expressed over the hooligan attack on Marek Reszuta, Second Secretary at the Polish Embassy, on August 10. It was stressed that the incident with the Polish diplomat is the object of a thorough investigation by Russian law enforcement agencies, which are doing everything possible to hunt down those guilty. Extra steps are being taken to provide for the safety of the Polish Embassy in Moscow and its staff. Hope was expressed that this incident will not be used to whip up tension in Russian-Polish relations.
