Press release on Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s meeting with Foreign Minister of the State of Eritrea Osman Saleh

On September 23, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had a meeting with Foreign Minister of the State of Eritrea Osman Saleh on the sidelines of the 77th Session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

The talks focused on priority areas of further bilateral cooperation. Sergey Lavrov and Osman Saleh noted a high level of political interaction between Russia and Eritrea and agreed to continue close coordination of the two countries’ steps at the UN and other international venues.

The ministers had an in-depth exchange of opinions on current international and regional issues, including settlement in the Horn of Africa. Preparations for the second Russia-Africa Summit were also considered.
