Press release on the visit of a delegation of the National Association of Veterans of the Brazilian Expeditionary Force
On November 20, the Foreign Ministry was visited by a delegation of the National Association of Veterans of the Brazilian Expeditionary Force (BEF). The guests arrived in Moscow to take part in the fourth international rally of internationalist-soldiers from countries of the CIS, Baltics, and near and far abroad, entitled “Veterans of Wars and Armed Conflicts for Peace, Goodneighbourly Relations and Decent Living Standards.”
At the meeting with the heads of the Council of War and Labour Veterans, which was held in a warm and trust-based atmosphere, veteran organisations discussed their experiences. The BEF delegation spoke about preparations for the exposition of the Museum of the BEF National Association of Veterans about the Soviet Union’s victorious participation in the Great Patriotic War. The words of the Council Chairman Valery Morozov about the importance of patriotic upbringing of the younger generation and the need to prevent the distortion of historical truth about the Soviet Union’s role in routing Nazi Germany evoked special understanding and support among the guests from Brazil, the only Latin American country whose military contingent took part in World War II in Europe.
