Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova’s answer to a media question regarding Russia’s term list for the peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian crisis

Question: US President’s Special Envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg stated during an interview with Fox News that he had received from Kiev a term list for a peace agreement and was now awaiting a similar document from the Russian side. What, in reality, is the status of preparations for a settlement document on the Ukrainian crisis?

Maria Zakharova: We are unaware of what the Ukrainian side has conveyed – or to whom.

Our delegation proceeds from the agreement reached on May 16, during direct Russian-Ukrainian negotiations in Istanbul. We agreed that each side – Russia and Ukraine – would prepare its own vision of the modalities for settlement and a ceasefire, after which they would exchange the relevant documents directly and discuss them in the next round. There were no agreements regarding mediation by the United States or other countries in the exchange of drafts.
