Press release on the results of a joint meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers, Council of Defence Ministers and Committee of Security Council Secretaries
On September 15, Dushanbe hosted a joint meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of Defence Ministers and the Committee of Security Council Secretaries of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO).
The meeting highlighted ways of further improving the organisation’s collective security system and deepening defence cooperation between the member states. The sides considered a draft joint statement of the CSTO heads of state and a number of other documents prepared for the CSTO Collective Security Council session, scheduled for the same day.
CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha delivered the annual report on the organisation’s activities.
Following the CSTO Collective Security Council session, the presidency of the CSTO statutory bodies will pass from Tajikistan to Armenia. Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian spelled out his country’s CSTO presidency priorities.
The participants discussed organisational, administrative and financial aspects of CSTO activities and agreed on the time and venue for regular meetings of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers, Council of Defence Ministers and Committee of Security Council Secretaries.
