On the meeting of the heads of diplomatic missions of the BRICS countries in Israel

On October 24, a meeting of the heads of diplomatic missions of the BRICS countries in Israel took place at the residence of Ambassador of Russia Anatoly Viktorov. The event was timed to the year of Russia's Chairship in the association.

In his welcoming address, Anatoly Viktorov expressed satisfaction of the Russian side with the development of multifaceted partnership in BRICS. Noted that more and more responsible members of the international community share the universal approaches of this unique association of like-minded nations. Pointed out that the summit held in Kazan on October 22-24, 2024, which became the culmination of the Russia’s Chairship, acquired a truly global scale. Emphasized that the current meeting of the heads of diplomatic missions in Israel is fully consistent with the BRICS line on developing ties in the interests of finding solutions to the most pressing global and regional problems. Drew attention to the fact that certain important provisions of the Kazan Declaration of the BRICS member states adopted on October 23 are devoted to the developing catastrophic situation in the Middle East. Emphasized that Russia is ready to continue promoting the achievement of lasting peace and stability in the Middle East in coordination with international and regional partners.

The discussion that followed focused on the situation in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone and the escalation of tensions between Israel and Lebanese Hezbollah. An exchange of views also took place on the issue of coordinating efforts by BRICS member countries to normalize the situation in the region.

The event was held in a business and friendly atmosphere. The intention to hold further meetings in a similar format was confirmed.
