Press release on the passing of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to India Alexander Kadakin

The Foreign Ministry announces with great sadness that on January 26, 2017, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to India Alexander Kadakin passed away in New Delhi.

Mr Kadakin was a very kind man and an Indologist beyond compare, a wise and experienced leader. Russian diplomacy has lost one of its utmost professionals who selflessly devoted himself to promoting the interests of our country abroad.

It is impossible to measure Mr Kadakin’s immense personal contribution to the strengthening of the Russian-Indian friendship that became his life’s work.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Mr Kadakin’s family and friends.

We will cherish the memory of our colleague, gone too soon, in our hearts forever.
