Press release on Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s meeting with Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov

On March 10, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.

The ministers discussed further steps to implement the provisions of the Declaration on Allied Cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Azerbaijan that the leaders of the two countries signed on February 22 this year during President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev’s official visit to Russia.

The foreign ministers reviewed the progress in implementing the agreements reached by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia on November 9, 2020 and on January 11 and November 26, 2021, in particular, the start of the delimitation of the border between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the unblocking of economic ties and transport connections, and the resolution of humanitarian issues.

The ministers agreed to work out a schedule for a second session of the 3+3 Consultative Regional Platform as soon as possible.

They also talked about a number of international issues of common interest.
