Press release on another mass expulsion of employees of Russian diplomatic missions in Germany and Russia’s retaliatory measures

German authorities have decided to launch another mass expulsion of employees of Russian diplomatic missions in Germany. We resolutely condemn this step by Berlin, which continues to aggressively demolish the entire system of Russian-German relations, including their diplomatic dimension.

Indicatively, despite its repeated reassurances that it has no wish to publicise this issue, the German side has violated them by disclosing these plans to the media, which it regularly uses for controlled leaks and planting disinformation.

In retaliation to these hostile actions by Berlin, Russia will provide a symmetrical response by expelling German diplomats from Russia and limiting the maximum number of German diplomatic missions’ employees in this country. On April 5, 2023, the Russian side officially notified German Ambassador to Russia Geza Andreas von Geyr about this decision during a conversation at the Foreign Ministry.
