Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s greetings to organisers, participants and guests of the 17th CIS Youth Delphic Games

I cordially welcome the organizers, participants and guests of the 17th Youth Delphic Games for the Commonwealth of Independent States.

For over 20 years, your creative competitions have played an important role in tapping the potential of young talent and popularising the rich cultural and historical heritage of our countries. Your efforts and creative approach to implementing this project deserve respect.

Competitions involving the CIS national teams make it possible for gifted young people to show their skills in the arts, expand the horizons of their work, and find new friends. Each of your meetings makes an important contribution to strengthening mutual understanding and support between representatives of different countries and ethnic groups and to establishing youth contacts. 

I am confident that the games will be a significant event in Eurasia’s public and cultural life, including in the context of the current Year of Russian as a language of international communication in the CIS. 

I wish all participants pleasant meetings and success, high spirits and strong impressions.
