I extend a warm welcome to the organisers and participants of the fifth anniversary of the International Youth Award Ecology is Everyone.

Environmental issues are a matter of concern for all of us, irrespective of our country of residence. The Earth is our shared home, which we must protect.

The Russian Federation places significant emphasis on environmental protection. Our water, forest, and land resources, along with our unique flora and fauna, require the careful attention and stewardship of every resident of Russia. At both the federal and regional levels, specialised environmental programmes are being implemented, and major research projects are underway. Educational initiatives are also being carried out.

On various international platforms, Russia remains committed to identifying collective solutions to the pressing environmental challenges of our era, such as preserving biodiversity, combating environmental pollution, and addressing climate change. We advocate for mutually respectful cooperation to achieve a judicious balance between environmental protection and the socio-economic development of nations.

I am pleased to note that each year sees a growing interest among children and young people in environmental protection. Over the years, the Ecology is Everyone competition has evolved into a highly beneficial project that fosters an active stance on life and environmental awareness among the younger generation. During this time, more than 200,000 passionate individuals from numerous countries have shared their ideas on how to make our shared home cleaner and tidier.

I am confident that the participants in this anniversary competition will make a significant contribution to environmental protection.
