Press release on Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s telephone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye Hakan Fidan

On January 31, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had a telephone conversation with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye Hakan Fidan.

During the conversation they had a thorough exchange of views on the development of the situation in and around Syria.

The foreign ministers stressed the importance of consolidating international efforts to promote a comprehensive settlement in the SAR on the basis of principles of unconditional respect for the country's sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.

They also touched upon a number of issues on the bilateral agenda.

It was agreed to remain in close contact on the Syrian issue and other relevant regional and international topics.
