Press release on Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s meeting with Foreign Minister of the Republic of Türkiye Hakan Fidan
On February 20 in Johannesburg, on the sidelines of the G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye Hakan Fidan.
The ministers compared notes on key aspects of the bilateral agenda, including prospects for cooperation in trade and the economy.
The sides exchanged views on some international and regional issues. They paid special attention to coordinating the two countries' efforts to further stabilise the situation in Syria. Sergey Lavrov informed his Turkish counterpart on the outcomes of the Russian-US contacts in Riyadh.
