Press release on Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s telephone conversation with US Secretary of State John Kerry

On October 28, the United States initiated a call between Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry. The officials continued discussing ways to settle the Syrian conflict, including normalising the situation around Aleppo in accordance with the approaches contained in earlier Russian-American agreements. To this end it is essential for the United States to finally separate the US-backed moderate opposition from terrorist groups.

Sergey Lavrov and John Kerry discussed ways to contribute to resolving the crises in Yemen and Libya as well as several bilateral issues.
